Top NHL Plays 11/20 | Good To Be Home ๐Ÿฆƒ

Welcome to Hat Trick, the unofficial LineStar NHL newsletter fan-experiment.

*** SPECIAL EDITION ***

FYI - With Thanksgiving this week, this will be our only newsletter of the week. Weโ€™ll resume with the regular schedule next week.

Why's it unofficial? Voluntarily manned by two LineStarMVP's + NHL super fans = ZeroInDenver and Jdrujon from LineStar NHL chat, they'll be your hosts for this journey. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Three Stars of the Night

Lil O' ready for Power Play action.

If youโ€™re going to spend up, these are our favorite targets on the night:

  • Alex Ovechkin โ€“ WASโ€“ W- ($7600 DK/$8600 FD) โ€“ Ovechkin has been seeing over 5 minutes of power play time over the last 5 games and faces a team that is short-handed over 4 times a game while on the road. Ovechkin should see plenty of opportunities to put the biscuit in the basket.

  • Auston Matthews - TOR โ€“ C ($8000 DK/$7900 FD) โ€“ Auston Matthews has been worth a look almost every night this year, but facing the worst team in the league tonight makes him a solid play.

  • Nazem Kadri โ€“ TOR โ€“ C โ€“ ($6400 DK/$6300 FD) โ€“ If you canโ€™t fit Matthews in your lineup, Kadri is a solid pivot. Sees plenty of scoring chances each night and gets a good number of minutes, but is generally overlooked in favor of Matthews or Nylander. He also is slated to play on the first power play unit, boosting his chances even higher for a goal and/or assist.

Line Stacks

Here are some of our favorite lines to stack in GPPs tonight.

  • NSH โ€“ Fiala-Turris-Smith ($13200 DK/$13000 FD) Considerably cheaper than the top line for Nashville, but over the past 5 home games has been more productive.

  • CLS โ€“ Jenner-Dubinsky-Atkinson ($15200 DK/$15700 FD) They donโ€™t have the results for it (yet) but this team keeps throwing the puck at the net and is among the top tonight in high-danger chances. Playing against a week Buffalo team, tonight might be the night they break through

  • WAS โ€“ Oshie-Backstrom-Stephenson ($1460 DK/$15200 FD) Iโ€™m expecting Washington to do well tonight, and hoping the Backlund line will be matched up against the Ovechkin line. If so, that would bring plenty of opportunity for the second line to score.

Bonus Stack:

  • TOR PP1 - Bozak-Kadri-Van Riemsdyk-Rielly-Marner - As we mentioned before, sometimes going with the full power play stack is a way to differentiate your lineup, while still getting exposure to high projected players, and multiple even strength lines. Knowing that Toronto is facing the worst team in the league, this could be a different, but productive way to approach this game.

Biscuit ain't going to risk itself!

The Risk-It-For-The-Biscuit Stack:

  • CGY โ€“ Gaudreau-Monahan-Ferland โ€“ ($19700 DK/$20800 FD) - Taking on Holtby at home is a bold move by itself. But the top line for Calgary has been hot lately and have a lot of upside. Theyโ€™re expensive, but that should curb ownership as well. Add in Dougie Hamilton if you really want to go all in.

Top Shelf Plays

Hereโ€™s a list of players at the top, middle, and value salary tiers that you should consider in your lineup based on their line, power play time, shots on goal, or consistency over the past month. If youโ€™d like any specifics of why a certain player made (or didnโ€™t make) the list, give us a holler in NHL chat.

Goaltenders ๐Ÿฅ…

These goals aren't going to tend themselves, let's goooooo......

  • Sergei Bobrovsky โ€“ CLS ($7800 DK/$8800 FD)

  • Devan Dubnyk โ€“ MIN ($8100 DK/$9000 FD)

  • John Gibson โ€“ ANH โ€“ ($7500 DK/$8500 FD)

  • Braden Holtby โ€“ WAS ($7900 DK/$9100 FD)

  • Connor Hellebuyck โ€“ WPG ($7400 DK/$8400 FD)

  • Frederik Andersen - TOR ($8400 DK / $8400 FD) GPP ONLY

Punts of the Night ***NEW***

Trying to find the best 3rd and 4th liners that could provide some salary relief in your lineups:

  • Nick Bonino โ€“C - NSH โ€“ ($3600 DK/$3400 FD)

  • Lars Eller โ€“ C โ€“ WAS โ€“ ($3500 DK/$3600 FD)

  • Timo Meier - W - SJ ($3,000 DK / $3100 FD)

  • Miles Wood - W - NJ ($3,400 DK / $3400 FD)
