Welcome to the NHL Hat Trick.

ICYMI - The NHL Season Preview & Strategy guide goes over the basics of NHL DFS and what I look for when researching players.

10-games on tap tonight, so let's dive in.

LETSSSSSSSSSSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonight's Slate

Here's numbers on the teams from their past 10 games. Generally, I start my research by looking for teams in good spots. For example, teams that score goals (GF60) that are facing teams that give up goals (GA60). I also look at teams that shoot a lot (CF60) that are facing teams that give up a lot of shots (CA60).

Line Stacks

Favorite and top-ranked team to stack tonight. FLA2 is my pick, but don't hate FLA1.

The top line for Philly is my next favorite stack on the night. They face a New Jersey team that is allowing 4.6 goals a game.

Tampa is a good team, but they've been allowing 3.2 goals a game so I like DAL1 as a contrarian stack tonight.

Biscuit Stack

Carolina should be popular based on the matchup, but any of the top 9 for Carolina could score tonight. Still, I think CAR1 is the best and my favorite option.

Goaltender Rankings

How to Read This:

I'm giving you a comparison of LineStar projections vs the average fantasy points scored over their last 10 games. I've also given you their save percentage (over 0.910 is ideal), goals allowed (lower is better), saves per game (more is better), GAA (Goals Saved Above Average), and my projected upside for each goalie.

Generally, if I'm stacking a team, I'll correlate a goalie if I can. In GPPs, I may not have the salary to make this work. In this case, I usually spend down on someone that I expect will take a lot of shots and could pick up the W.

As always - double-check that your goalie is starting before the game starts.

My Favorites:

CASH: Mike Smith - EDM (DK: $8000, FD: $8000)

GPP: Braden Holtby - VAN (DK: $7100, FD: $7100)

Forwards and Defensemen Rankings

Here are my overall rankings on the top 15 skaters on the main slate. These are players that I would look to insert into my lineups as one-offs or lineup fillers if I'm stacking or double-stacking lines.

My Favorites

Sam Bennett - FLA - DK: $4100 | FD: $4000

Hard to ignore his recent production. Meanwhile, his price has barely moved.

Kirill Kaprizov - MIN - DK: $7100 | FD: $6600

The dude is a playmaker and has the most shot attempts per game in my top 15 for tonight

Jack Hughes - NJD - DK: $4900 | FD: $4900

Still cheap for a top-line, top power play unit center facing a team that is giving up 3.6 goals a game.

Claude Giroux - PHI - DK: $5700 | FD: $6900

Let's not forget that the Devils have been allowing 4.6 goals a game. Love Giroux as a one-off and to get exposure to that game.

Bottom of the Barrel

Here are my cheap calls for a skater to pick up a goal or assist.

Robert Thomas: STL - C - DK: $2500 | FD: $3900

 Marcus Foligno: MIN - W - DK: $3500 | FD: $3100

Justin Holl: TOR - D - DK: $3000 | FD: $3600
