Happy 4/20 everyone. Another good 7-game slate of hockey tonight.

Tonight's Slate

Here's numbers on the teams from their past 10 games. Generally, I start my research by looking for teams in good spots. For example, teams that score goals (GF60) that are facing teams that give up goals (GA60). I also look at teams that shoot a lot (CF60) that are facing teams that give up a lot of shots (CA60).

Line Stacks

Pittsburgh has the best matchup on the slate and the top two lines rank highest for me tonight.

The Islanders don't allow a lot of goals, but the Rangers are scoring a slate-best 4.20 goals a game over their last 10 games and deserver consideration for tonight. I prefer NYR1, but both lines are in play today.

Going back to Florida tonight. The Jackets are allowing 4 goals a game over their last 10 games, and all lines for Florida are cheap.

Biscuit Stack

I've touted LA more this year than any sane person should. That said, I like them in tonight's battle of the two worst teams in the West.

Goaltender Rankings

How to Read This: 

I'm giving you a comparison of LineStar projections vs the average fantasy points scored over their last 10 games. I've also given you their save percentage (over 0.910 is ideal), goals allowed (lower is better), saves per game (more is better), GAA (Goals Saved Above Average), and my projected upside for each goalie.

Generally, if I'm stacking a team, I'll correlate a goalie if I can. In GPPs, I may not have the salary to make this work. In this case, I usually spend down on someone that I expect will take a lot of shots and could pick up the W.

As always - double-check that your goalie is starting before the game starts.

CASH: Jake Oettinger - DAL (DK: $8200, FD: $7600)

GPP: Braden Holtby - VAN (DK: $7100, FD: $7200)

Forwards and Defensemen Rankings

How to Interpret C/D/W charts: In NHL DFS, I think it's most important to look at peripheral stats instead of goals which is why I put so much emphasis on shots. This includes shot attempts, high danger shot attempts (those shot attempts closest to the net with the highest probability of going into the net), shots on goal, and scoring chances. I've included projections and average fantasy points to see how each compares so you can more easily find value.

Center

My Favorite

Auston Matthews - TOR - DK: $9100 | FD: $8700

"Should I spend up for Matthews" is something a lot of DFS players will ask themselves tonight. I say yes. Not the best matchup, and I think a lot will go to Crosby or Barkov, so you could benefit from lower ownership

Wing

My Favorite:

Andrei Svechnikov - CAR - DK: $5200 | FD: $5900

Didn't mention Carolina in stacks, but I like them tonight and I love Svechnikov as a one-off as he's really underpriced considering his peripherals.

Defensemen

My Favorite

Kris Letang - PIT - DK: $6200 | FD: $6100

There are some good cheap options for the defenseman spot tonight so I think you should have room to spend up for Letang and get exposure to Pittsburgh tonight.

Bottom of the Barrel

Here are my cheap calls for a skater to pick up a goal or assist.

Michael Rasmussen: DET - C - DK: $2900 | FD: $3500

Nils Hoglander: VAN - W - DK: $3400 | FD: $3700

Jaccob Slavin: CAR - D - DK: $3400 | FD: $3900
