Welcome to the NHL Hat Trick.
ICYMI - The NHL Season Preview & Strategy guide goes over the basics of NHL DFS and what I look for when researching players.
Imagine a slate where I'd recommend Detroit.
Imagine a slate where I'd recommend New Jersey
Imagine it's the same slate...
Yet, hear me out. There's clear and obvious chalk in Colorado. There's nothing we can do about that. You can either go all in and stack Colorado, or you can go the other way and hope they bust. For me, I'm definitely playing homer stacks. Like I've mentioned before when Edmonton was extra-chalk, you can still differentiate. There's a solid chance that the top line doesn't do all the scoring for Colorado. Again, I'm just going to try to get as many pieces from Colorado and hope I've got the winning numbers.
I'll give some solid options to consider alongside them.
LETSSSSSSSSSSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight's Slate
Here's numbers on the teams from their past 10 games. Generally, I start my research by looking for teams in good spots. For example, teams that score goals (GF60) that are facing teams that give up goals (GA60). I also look at teams that shoot a lot (CF60) that are facing teams that give up a lot of shots (CA60).

Based on this, teams I'm looking to target tonight include Florida, Colorado, Detroit, and New Jersey
Line Stacks
Nothing new and should not be a surprise, but Colorado will be one of the most popular stacks on the slate. All three lines are in play for me tonight.

Both top lines for Florida are in play for me tonight, but my preference is a FLA2 stack or a PP1 stack to get Huberdeau, Hornqvist, and Barkov together.

I guess this is where we are in life. We're considering stacking Detroit. Again, this goes back to stacking against bad teams, and Nashville is a bad team. All 3 lines for Detroit are in play for me with the second line being a slight favorite for me from Detroit tonight.

Risk It For The Biscuit
It's not everyday I get to tout Detroit and New Jersey in the same newsletter and I'm not being facetious. Again, we're targeting bad teams, and Philly is allowing 4.5 goals a game over their last 10 games. At the same time, if we want to stack an expensive line like Colorado, we're going to need to find something cheap to pair it with and hopefully, that will have lower ownership. My preference is the second line for NJ, but will also play the top line for the "who are these guys" appeal.

Goaltender Rankings
How to Read This:
I'm giving you a comparison of LineStar projections vs the average fantasy points scored over their last 10 games. I've also given you their save percentage (over 0.910 is ideal), goals allowed (lower is better), saves per game (more is better), GAA (Goals Saved Above Average), and my projected upside for each goalie.
Generally, if I'm stacking a team, I'll correlate a goalie if I can. In GPPs, I may not have the salary to make this work. In this case, I usually spend down on someone that I expect will take a lot of shots and could pick up the W.

As always - double-check that your goalie is starting before the game starts.
My Favorites:
CASH: Andrei Vasilevskiy- TBL (DK: $8000, FD: $8700)
GPP: Kevin Lankinen - CHI (DK: $7600, FD: $7000)
Forwards and Defensemen Rankings
How to Interpret C/D/W charts: In NHL DFS, I think it's most important to look at peripheral stats instead of goals which is why I put so much emphasis on shots. This includes shot attempts, high danger shot attempts (those shot attempts closest to the net with the highest probability of going into the net), shots on goal, and scoring chances. I've included projections and average fantasy points to see how each compares so you can more easily find value.

My Favorite
Yanni Gourde - TBL (DK: $4900, FD: $4600)
You don't need me to tell you any more about Colorado players. Instead, I'm looking at Yanni Gourde because he's been playing well lately and is cheap enough to pair with a MacKinnon or Barkov to make a solid lineup.

My Favorite:
Patrick Kane - CHI (DK: $7300, FD: $8100)
Again, ignoring Colorado players because I don't need to convince you to play them and I wouldn't talk you off of them. Instead, I'm going to invite you to take a look at Patrick Kane. Great shot volume and sees a good number of scoring chances and a decent matchup against a Florida team that is giving up 2.8 goals a game
Defensemen

My Favorite
Jakob Chychrun - ARI (DK: $5900, FD: $4700)
Chychrun is like the new Brent Burns. His price jumped up on FD by$500 but dropped by $600 on DraftKings.
Bottom of the Barrel
Here are my cheap calls for a skater to pick up a goal or assist.
Tyson Jost: COL - C (DK: $ 2600, FD: $ 3300)
Jason Robertson: DAL - W (DK: $4200, FD: $4100)
Sami Vatanen: NJD (DK: $2700, FD: $3500)
