Welcome back to the NHL Hat Trick.
ICYMI - The NHL Season Preview & Strategy guide goes over the basics of NHL DFS and what I look for when researching players.
Tuesdays are always my favorite day for NHL DFS. We generally get a good slate (tonight is 8 games) which tends to cap ownership across the board.
I don't do anything special for these slates except I tend to hammer 3-3 and 4-3 stacks. I'm sure I mentioned it before, but I still think one of the best ways to approach slates is to first figure out what you can eliminate. I don't like to chase teams or stacks that have less than a 5% chance of being the top stack of the night. Sometimes it burns me, but most of the time it doesn't. Focus on good teams, players, and stacks and hopefully, we wake up on the right side of the cash line.
LETSSSSSSSSSSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Tonight's Slate
Here's numbers on the teams from their past 10 games. Generally, I start my research by looking for teams in good spots. For example, teams that score goals (GF60) that are facing teams that give up goals (GA60). I also look at teams that shoot a lot (CF60) that are facing teams that give up a lot of shots (CA60).

Goaltender Rankings
How to Interpret This: I've added LineStar Projected Ownership, LineStar Projected Fantasy Points, and Goalie GAA (Goals Saved Above Average), and Saves/60, along with my projected upside for each goalie. Generally, I'm looking for goalies that I think will get a win with a positive (green) GSAA and a high saves number.

As always - double-check that your goalie is starting before the game starts.
My Favorite:
Igor Shesterkin - NYR (DK: $7900, FD: $7300) *CONFIRMED STARTER*
I have an unsettling amount of Shesterkin today. I think part of it is I have a lot of NYR stacks and, as I've mentioned before, I like correlating goalie with my stacks whenever possible. Still, Buffalo doesn't score a lot of goals and they haven't been playing well, so I'm chasing the win bonus with this one as well.
Forwards and Defensemen Rankings
How to Interpret C/D/W charts: In NHL DFS, I think it's most important to look at peripheral stats instead of goals which is why I put so much emphasis on shots. This includes shot attempts, high danger shot attempts (those shot attempts closest to the net with the highest probability of going into the net), and shots on goal. I've included projections and average fantasy points to see how each compares so you can more easily find value.

My Favorite
Sean Couturier - PHI (DK: $6800, FD: $7600)
SPOILER: PHI1 is my favorite stack of the night, so I'm going to have a lot of Couturier tonight.
Wing

My Favorite:
Kyle Connor - WPG (DK: $6400, FD: $6700)
Back to the well. I love watching Kyle Connor. He gets a lot of good scoring chances each night and makes for a great one-off.
Defensemen

My Favorite
Shea Weber - MON (DK: $5700, FD: $5200)
OTT-MON has one of the highest implied totals on the night which means that I will try to fit a player from one of these teams into each of my lineups. I'm leaning Weber over Petry tonight for that PP1 exposure.
Bottom of the Barrel
Here are my cheap calls for a skater to pick up a goal or assist.
Scott Laughton: PHI - C (DK: $3.3K, FD: $4.3K)
Tim Stuetzle: OTT - W (DK: $4.2K, FD: $4.2K)
Mattias Ekholm: NSH- D (DK: $3.9K, FD: $3.9K)
Line Stacks
Here are my ranked stacks for tonight:
